Prince Dumpling is a straightforward, no-frills spot nestled along Valley Blvd in Rosemead, offering a solid lineup of Chinese fare with a focus on dumplings and noodles. The atmosphere here feels casual and comfortable, attracting a mix of locals who appreciate a dependable meal more than fancy ambiance. It’s the kind of place where families, groups of friends, and couples pop in for a relaxed dinner without any pretense.

The ordering process is practical, often involving a paper menu where you mark your choices, which helps keep the flow steady even when it’s busy on weekend evenings. The real draw, according to frequent visitors, is the quality and freshness in their dumplings—especially the pork and chive versions, noted for their juicy filling and crisp, tender wrappers. Those looking for something beyond dumplings will find a variety of options like Dan Dan noodles, black sesame Xiao Long Bao, and even more indulgent plates such as pork cutlet fried rice and sweet and sour baby back ribs, all fitting well within a casual Chinese comfort food experience.

Service moves at a good pace and is generally friendly and accommodating, with staff willing to help navigate the menu or correct any ordering slips quietly. Portions tend to be generous without being overwhelming, and prices feel reasonable for the quality and location. The interior is cozy, making it suitable for casual dinners rather than anything formal or special-occasion oriented.

Prince Dumpling works best for those who want a reliable, tasty meal focused on dumplings and noodles without fuss. It’s an especially good spot for local residents who enjoy introducing friends to dependable neighborhood dining or returning week after week for familiar flavors done with care. For visitors looking to experience a slice of Rosemead’s varied Chinese dining scene, coming on a weekday evening or slightly off-peak time can mean quicker seating and a more laid-back vibe.

My husband and I have been here quite a few times now. We try to introduce a different couple to this restaurant each time we dine here. It has become one of our favorite places! The previous manager Sam, as well as the current manager Jimmy, have always been so accommodating to us! Each dish we order is always so delicious! Take a look at my recent photos and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been here a few times and came back for dinner on a Sunday night. It was busy but there were a few tables still open. We got seated with a paper to fill out what we want. Out of everything I my favorites were the Pork cutlet fried rice, Xiao long Bao, Noodles, and Pan fried pork baos. Ive had all these dishes before and I felt like this time it wasn’t the same as i remember coming the other times. I felt Beef Roll & Cucumber Salad needed more seasoning/flavor, but textures great. This is located inside the same plaza as GW market and right next to the market. Plenty of parking spaces. The dinning room is pretty spacious. Looks like they have over 20+ tables. Very cool to have a display glass box of workers making dumplings and working on dough. Ordered: Chicken Xiao Long Bao: 8/10 Cucumber Salad: 7/10 Beef Roll: 7/10 Pork Cutlet and Egg Fried Rice: 10/10 Dan Dan Noodles (Sesame Noodle): 9/10 Pan Fried Pork Bao 9/10

If I could give Prince Dumpling six stars, I absolutely would. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination that sets the gold standard for innovative Chinese cuisine in Rosemead. The quality, the flavor, and the execution of every single dish are phenomenal. You have to start with the classics. Their Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao are arguably the best in the San Gabriel Valley—the wrapper is thin yet sturdy, holding a burst of savory broth and the rich, tender Kurobuta pork filling. Following that up, the Pan Fried Pork Bun offers an incredible contrast with its crispy, golden bottom and fluffy top. And don't skip the Sticky Rice Siu Mai; it's a hearty, flavorful take on a dim sum staple that is absolutely addictive. The Shrimp Fried Noodles are cooked perfectly, non-greasy, and loaded with fresh shrimp. The Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, with a perfect balance of tang and sweetness in the sauce. For a refreshing counterpoint, the Cucumber Salad is crisp and lightly dressed—a necessary palate cleanser. And for my vegetarian friends, the Vegetarian Steamed Dumplings are packed with savory flavor, proving they don't skimp on deliciousness. Finally, we need to talk about the newest addition that completely blew me away: the crispy, golden to perfection Chicken Cutlet with their house-made lemon sauce. Seriously, this dish is to die for. The chicken is unbelievably juicy inside with a shatteringly crisp crust, and that lemon sauce? It elevates the whole experience. The Grand Finale: Dessert - just when you think you've reached peak deliciousness, you discover their dessert dumplings. You must save room for the sweet Xiao Long Bao. The Red Bean Xiao Long Bao is an unexpected delight, offering a warm, slightly sweet, and earthy filling encased in that delicate wrapper. But the true masterpiece is the Chocolate Xiao Long Bao—it's like a perfectly steamed, molten lava cake you can eat with chopsticks! These are the innovative sweet endings you didn't know you needed. Wash it all down with their creamy, perfectly spiced Thai Tea, and you have the makings of the perfect meal. Prince Dumpling truly offers a five-star dining adventure from start to finish. Run, don't walk, to try these dishes!

I had a great experience at Prince Dumpling! The dumplings were good and juicy, with a nice crispy bottom and tender wrapper. You can really taste the freshness and quality in each bite. I especially loved the pork and chive — super flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and service was quick and friendly. It’s a cozy spot that’s perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. If you’re a dumpling lover, this place is definitely worth checking out. I’d come back to try more!

If you don't know it's there, you'd miss it. No signage from East Valley Blvd. However, find it...and order up the scallion pancakes, the panfried pork buns...love their pork dumplings.. ..I accidentally ordered the beef steak cubes, wish I hadn't sent it back to the kitchen...it looked soooo yum. They corrected my order, didn't charge me for my misteak...and we got the popular beef upon noodles. I brought my very discerning foodie mom, and she loved the dumplings especially. Yay!! Now she wants to try more items the next time she wants to order. You order off a paper menu, service is friendly, a combating, and forgiving. Glad the staff got to eat my mistaken order, ans thank you for not charging me for my mistake. Mom approved place...we will return.

Another xlb ! We have been trying it all out .. surprising inside is quite nice ambiance because outside doesn’t look appealing.. you get 10 xlb and it is not sweet .. it is more savory which I like… pan fried bun is very juicy as well.. seems like there is wine in the filling..

I’ve been wanting to try out this place in such a long time and finally bit the bullet last week. Upon reading their extensive menu, we noticed a lot of similarities with DTF but at a slightly cheaper price point , plus short wait. Everything we ended up trying was solid! The xiao long bao had thin wrappers with a rich, flavorful broth inside — definitely some of the better ones I’ve had in the SGV. The beef rolls were flaky and crispy. The lobster abalone soup stole the show — it’s visually stunning and actually packed with deep seafood flavor. The sides rounded out the meal perfectly. Garlic string beans and honey walnut shrimp were delicious. Always a hit with our family. We left SO full and happy This place does get crowded, so highly recommend visiting earlier (closer to opening time).
